Update! Chicago Weekend Shootings Leave 5 Dead, 33 Injured, According to Police

Douglas saw two shootings on Friday night that left a 12-year-old boy and two teenagers injured. on the 500 block of East 31st Street at approximately 9:20 p.m. A 12-year-old girl strolling with a group of people and a 15-year-old girl riding in a car were both struck by gunfire from a silver sedan, according to Chicago police sources.

The youngster was sent to Comer Children’s Hospital after being shot in the leg many times. After being taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, the girl had multiple gunshot wounds to her back. Police stated both were classified as being in good condition.

A little over an hour later, from roughly half a mile away, a sixteen-year-old boy was shot.

The shooting occurred just before 10:15 p.m., according to the police, while he was standing in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in the 3400 block of South King Drive.

Upon arriving at University of Chicago Medical Center, the boy—who had been shot in the abdomen—was declared critically ill by the police. After either shooting, there were no reported arrests.

An 18-year-old woman was sitting in a parked car when she was shot in the head, Chicago police said. Around the same time, a man, 29, was shot near downtown Portillo’s in River North, police said.

The shooting happened in an alley near Portillo’s in the 600-block of North Clark Street around 3:14 a.m., police said. He was shot in the right calf and was taken to Rush Hospital in good condition.

No one is in custody at this time. CPD Area Three detectives are investigating. Around 8:39 a.m. police found a 36-year-old man with gunshot wounds in an alley in the 700-block of 66th near Halsted Street in Englewood.

Following his admission, he passed away in the hospital. CPD is conducting a homicide investigation.
Last weekend , at least 19 people were shot, two fatally, in gun violence across Chicago, police said.
