Man Killed in Northeast DC Shooting After Sustaining Multiple Gunshot Wounds

WFCN (Washington) — A fatal shooting that occurred late Friday night in Northeast Washington, D.C. is being looked into by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

In the 1700 block of Benning Road NE, officers arrived on the scene just before 11:45 p.m. They discovered Darryl Williams, 45, who had been shot several times, there.

He was brought to the hospital, where he passed away.

The man was declared dead not long after emergency medical workers arrived on the scene and made an effort to save his life. He was then taken to a neighboring hospital. As detectives started gathering information and contacting possible witnesses, the area was roped off.
