Chicago ( WFCN )– When a bottle was thrown at a Chicago police officer during the dispersal of attendees at the Puerto Rican Festival in Humboldt Park, the officer was hospitalized.
The incident took place in the 2400 block of W. Division Street on Saturday at 8:40 p.m.
When someone in the group tossed the bottle at the officer, Chicago police said they were trying to disperse the throng.

The CPD reports that after the officer was transported to a nearby hospital, her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

Regarding the event, no one has been taken into custody.
But according to police, there were a number of other arrests made for fighting, battery, and disturbing the peace throughout the June 6–9 festival.
At Humboldt Park, the festival led to heightened security and a large police presence, including pat-downs, bag checks, and other procedures.
