WFCN – A picture of a truck that is allegedly connected to a tragic hit-and-run accident that occurred earlier this week has been made public by the Montgomery County Department of Police.
According to police, there was an early-morning pedestrian crash in Takoma Park on Monday that resulted in one fatality and one motorist who is still at large.
Soon after 1:15 a.m. on June 3 in the 1100 block of University Boulevard, a pedestrian was struck and killed, according to detectives, who then opened an investigation.

Officers discovered a man suffering from a head injury while he lay in the street. Following an emergency room visit, he was declared deceased at a nearby hospital.

A car that fled the scene was most likely the source of the injuries, according to an autopsy performed by the Office of the Medical Examiner in Washington, DC.

Police have concluded from their early investigation that a car traveling west struck the pedestrian and then drove off into Prince George’s County on Lebanon Street.
A black Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended cab pick-up truck made between 1999 and 2006 is thought to be the suspect vehicle, according to the agency.
The victim, a 5-foot-6, 150-pound Hispanic man with a short goatee, was the sole description provided to detectives. They are still working to identify him. At the time of the strike, he was dressed in dark blue sweatpants and a light blue t-shirt.
