Hard Times To Maintain! Retailer Shutting Down 400 Locations in Massive Closure

WFCN –

Now that it has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in October of last year, a staple retailer is shutting down 400 locations.

In its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, Rite Aid announced the closure of 143 stores.

The total number of store closures has surpassed 520, but it has been rising slowly as more closures have been announced this week.

If what TheStreet says is true, then this amounts to 25% of the pharmacies’ locations.

Rite Aid also announced in its July 15th website that it had experienced “an incident that involved certain consumers’ personal information,” in addition to its Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The business noted that it has notified local, state, and federal authorities of the occurrence.

Information such as names, addresses, dates of birth, and driver’s license or other government-issued ID numbers were among the stolen details. These details were provided by buyers between June 6, 2017, and July 30, 2018.

It should be noted that Rite Aid has clarified that the event did not affect any patients’ financial, social security, or medical records.

In response to consumer concerns regarding the breach, Rite Aid has established a special phone line.

Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central Time (excluding holidays), our dedicated service line is available to take your call at (866) 810-8094.

The line will be available until October 15, 2024, it said.
