TEXAS, USA — As of late, many states, including Texas, have joined the hunt for a missing girl.
Earlier this month, on May 30, 12-year-old Maria Gomez-Perez—who was clad in a vibrant blue shirt—was reported missing by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia.
The ongoing search for the 12-year-old has involved several resources, including translators, crime scene investigators, drones, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, and the Department of Homeland Security.
The number of tips has decreased in recent weeks, but the search has been broadened to include other states: Alabama, Tennessee, Maryland, Florida, South Carolina, and Texas.
A new poster and a larger prize are part of the redoubled attempt to locate Gomez-Perez and return her home.
According to authorities, search and digital evidence has “provided hope for a break in the case and continue to be the best investigative resource thus far.”
WXIA, a sister station of KVUE, said that Gomez-Perez’s father expressed his desire for his daughter to go back home. According to him, she is indispensable.
