According to officials, a person who was carrying a knife was struck by a pickup truck on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade this Monday morning while engaging in a conflict with troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to NBC Miami, the Florida Highway Patrol stated that the event took place on the southbound lanes of I-95 close to Ives Dairy Road, where the pedestrian was first seen walking along the shoulder of the highway.
According to Local 10, FHP Lt. Alex Camacho mentioned that the man, after being confronted by troopers, “brandished a knife in the direction of the troopers.”
The man tried to flee by running through the lanes of the highway, where he was hit by a dark pickup truck.
