Fayetteville Police Investigate K-9 Officer After Video of Dog Being Hit

Fayetteville, North Carolina: The city is incensed about a video that seems to show a Fayetteville K-9 officer striking his dog.

The Walgreens on Village Drive and Owen Drive is where it happened. An unidentified Fayetteville police K-9 officer can be seen repeatedly striking his K-9 in the footage. What transpired before to the beginning of the footage is still unknown.

“It’s truly devastating,” Fayetteville resident Shirley Meskill remarked. “You wouldn’t treat animals that way. According to my philosophy, you shouldn’t do anything to humans or animals that you wouldn’t want done to you.”

The Fayetteville Police Department released a statement stating that they are aware that the video is becoming viral on the internet. The agency stated that internal affairs is looking into the incident and that it takes the community’s concerns seriously.

Meskill remarked, “I mean, what he did is on video.” “How much time will an inquiry take? It appears to be postponed again until it simply vanishes.”

After the police department released their statement, ABC11 called them for further information. They wanted to know what happened before the incident involving the officer and his K-9. When ABC11 inquired more about whether the officer would face consequences for this, the department refused to comment.

ABC11 has not yet been able to get in contact with the officer in the video since they have not been named.
