No less than a break-in occurred at the SmartStop Self Storage facility on Northeast 12th Avenue, as recorded by Only in Dade.

On Wednesday, a 34-year-old man named Tyvarius Tygwyan Stroudmattison broke into a unit at the facility and took a pair of name-brand sneakers valued at about $20,000, according to Homestead Police.

Officers responded to his Thursday return to the property and discovered him inside a storage container, according to the police.

Stroudmattison allegedly attempted to flee by climbing out of a window on top of his building after officers ordered him to surrender.

Before police could apprehend him, he began sprinting over the ceilings of nearby flats and crashed through.
