Big Violent Rampage: Man Murders 3 Women in 1-Hour Shooting Spree

After allegedly going on a “killing spree,” authorities said that the man shot and killed three ladies in different incidents in Florida: his mother, his cousin, and the new partner of his ex-girlfriend. The man is now dead.

The suspect, 28-year-old Javontee Brice, went to his sister’s and ex-girlfriend’s Palmetto residence before the events of Monday night, according to Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells during a press conference.

He turned to face his ex-girlfriend and declared, ‘I have to kill you.'” Wells claimed that the sister was able to dissuade him from shooting his ex-girlfriend in some way. “She later told investigators that he was acting very strange.”

According to the sheriff, Wells then drove to a Motel 6 in Bradenton where his mother, his two younger sisters, and the mother’s boyfriend were lodging.

Around nine o’clock in the evening, “he walked into that hotel room, looked at the mother and said, ‘I’m sorry,'” stated Wells.

“‘What did you do?'” was her question. Wells stated, “And he shoots her three times in front of the boyfriend and these two helpless young juveniles.”

After that, according to the sheriff, Brice drove to a Palmetto home where one of his cousins was having a BBQ. The sheriff claimed that at approximately 9:40 p.m., Wells shot his cousin as she was getting into her car to drive away. Per the sheriff, the 29-year-old relative passed away around one hour later.

The sheriff claimed that Brice afterwards traveled to a Bradenton residence where her new partner and another ex-girlfriend resided. The new partner was shot and killed by Brice at approximately 10:04 p.m., according to Wells.

Brice’s car was the subject of a nationwide “Be On the Lookout” alert, according to the sheriff’s office. It was eventually located in Hamilton County, which is close to the Georgia state line.

It was discovered by the authorities that Brice “possibly has another ex-girlfriend” in Georgia, and it’s possible that he was heading there to murder her, according to Wells.

Brice stepped out of the car and began shooting at police after they pulled him over in Hamilton County at around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to Wells.

According to Wells, Brice was shot and killed by the responding officers.

According to the sheriff, Brice was accompanied by a woman who was being questioned when he was pulled over.

“We don’t know her relation to him at this point, but she was in the car when the shootout took place,” Wells explained.

The killings of Brice’s mother and cousin have “devastated” his family, Wells said, but investigators want to speak with the family to find out what Brice “may have been going through the last few days.”

“He seemed to have an agenda; he knew exactly who he wanted to kill and he did not have a hard time locating them,” said Wells.

“What triggered this man is unknown to us. We’re not sure why he decided to murder his loved ones,” the sheriff continued. “We may never know, but we’re going to continue to investigate.”
