Following reports from Miami-Dade police that he shot and killed his ex-girlfriend’s mother in front of her Homestead residence last week, the adolescent is charged with first-degree murder.

According to his arrest report, the 16-year-old boy—whose name the Miami Herald is withholding due to his age—shot Eulalia Gonzalez Martin De Osorio, 38, in the head at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Thursday while she was standing on her duplex house’s porch at NW 11th Street and 6th Avenue, holding her infant daughter.

Detectives added in their report that he then fled and got into a white SUV, which took him away from the site.

He was brought to the Miami-Dade Regional Juvenile Detention Center on a warrant for first-degree murder and minor firearm possession that was obtained early on Monday morning.

The Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office spokeswoman, Lissette Valdes-Valle, stated that prosecutors are evaluating the case to see whether to charge the minor as an adult.

Police were notified by a neighbor who witnessed Martin De Osorio walk up to the house and say, “I’ll fire,” as she was standing on her porch next to him.

According to the complaint, the woman fled into her home out of fear for her life. Martin De Osorio was laying on the ground on top of her daughter when she returned outside a little while later.

The police stated that the child was unharmed.

A photo lineup was used by multiple witnesses to identify Martin De Osorio, including the teen’s ex-girlfriend and his older daughter.

The story claims that the teenager told authorities that he ordered a ride-sharing car to take him to the girl’s house with plans to kill one of her relatives after being arrested and given his rights read. He claimed that he blamed the girl for ending their nine-month romance two months prior.

Detectives said in their report that the youngster had been threatening the girl over the phone, saying that “if she was not with him, she could not be with anyone else.”

According to the complaint, after shooting Martin De Osorio, the child informed the police he had hidden the gun in his pants waistline and had returned to the white SUV that had taken him to the residence.

According to the police, the ride-sharing driver returned him to his Princeton residence.
