St. John the Baptist Parish
At before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, a drive-by on Airline Highway near Reserve, Louisiana, claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl.
Aariah Henry, 16, lost her life in the drive-by shooting, according to St. John the Baptist Sheriff Michael Tregre. Henry was not, according to Sheriff Tregre, the intended target of the gunshot.
In an effort to identify a suspect, the sheriff’s office shared a video of the shooting on social media.
When muzzle flashes from at least four rounds fired from the passenger window of one of the cars, which authorities believe to be a 2015 gray Kia Optima that was reported stolen out of New Orleans in March, are shown in the footage, two cars are seen traveling north on Airline Highway.
As of this now, detectives have no leads. At 504-494-2674, please contact Captain Brandon Barlow of the Criminal Investigations Division of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office if you have any information.
