Authorities reported that fourteen individuals were saved from a 26-foot boat that overturned in shallow waters in Biscayne Bay on Wednesday night.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), a boat carrying 14 individuals was found partially submerged and filling with water around 8:36 p.m. to the west of Key Biscayne, close to Crandon Marina.
Miami Fire Rescue transported three individuals from the vessel to Crandon Marina Park. FWC transported the remaining individuals aboard their vessel.
According to authorities, there were no casualties.

In just a matter of minutes after receiving the urgent call for help, the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue team and the U.S. Coast Guard swiftly arrived at the location. Boats and helicopters were sent out for the rescue mission, and all 14 people were swiftly retrieved from the water by the rescuers.
James Patterson, a lieutenant with the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, commended his team’s dedication and underscored the crucial role of safety procedures. He declared that, due to the prompt response of our rescue squads and the life vests donned by all passengers, a potential disaster was averted.
