Indianapolis – Near the Hancock-Marion county line, a fatal crash is being investigated.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, one death has been confirmed. IMPD Fatal Crash Investigation Team is now looking into the incident.
The incident, which involved two vehicles, happened near U.S. 52 and 800 West (Brookville Road and S. Carroll Road) at roughly 6:30 a.m., according to IMPD.
Police added that while the other driver was transferred to a nearby hospital, one of the drivers passed away.
Hancock County 911 posted on social media early on Wednesday morning, advising anyone traveling this way to use an alternate route.

The crash and investigation will be handled by IMPD because of its placement on the county line. The organization stated that the roads and crossroads will be closed for a considerable amount of time.
According to IMPD, Brookville Road eastbound is closed at Kitley Road, and drivers are asked to stay away from the area. From W 300 S. southbound, and from E. Troy Avenue northbound, S. Carroll Rd. is closed.
IMPD stated that the scene will be active for a few more hours at the very least.
