WFCN – The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently revealed that the practice of “microdosing” chocolate bars meant to provide customers with “peace of mind” has resulted in an increasing number of hospital admissions.
On June 7, the FDA released a preliminary advisory notice regarding Diamond Shruumz, a manufacturer of chocolate bars and candies intended for “microdosing”. Six consumers of the items were hospitalized at the time.
At least ten people have been hospitalized after consuming the goods, according to a recent FDA study. Two other individuals sought medical attention but were not admitted to the hospital.
The FDA website advises users not to “eat, sell, or serve Diamond Shruumz-Brand Microdosing Chocolate Bars.”
“[The] FDA is working to determine the cause of these illnesses and is considering the appropriate next steps,” the statement continued. “More information will be provided as it becomes available.”
Nationwide distribution is provided by the products. Hospitalizations were reported in Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri, Nevada, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania, according to the FDA website. There were two documented hospitalizations in Indiana and four in Arizona.
Officials stated that “severe” symptoms were experienced by the consumers who consumed the “microdosing” items.

“People who became ill after eating Diamond Shruumz-brand Microdosing Chocolate Bars reported a variety of severe symptoms including seizures, central nervous system depression (loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness), agitation, abnormal heart rates, hyper/hypotension, nausea, and vomiting,” according to the Food and Drug Administration.
“Microdosing” is the practice of drug users taking very small doses of hallucinogenic substances to elevate their mood and stimulate creativity without experiencing a psychedelic trip. Despite being advertised as “microdosing,” Diamond Shruumz claims that none of its products contain psilocybin.
According to Diamond Shruumz’s website, “there is no presence of psilocybin, amanita, or any scheduled drugs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.” “Rest assured, our treats are not only free from psychedelic substances but our carefully crafted ingredients still offer an experience.”
“This allows you to indulge in a uniquely crafted blend designed for your pleasure and peace of mind.”
The items are being looked into by the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Diamond Shruumz was contacted by Fox News Digital for comment, but they did not respond.
