Southeast DC Hit-and-Run: Husband Dies, Wife Injured; Suspect Vehicle Identified

Washington: Following a hit-and-run incident in Southeast D.C. on Wednesday, DC Police said that a man was killed and a woman was injured.

In the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast, there was a collision just before 12:20 p.m.

Upon reaching the Safeway grocery store, emergency personnel discovered a woman who had been struck by a car. Although her injuries were not life-threatening, she was sent to a nearby hospital.

First responders received a call regarding a guy who had fallen in the 2900 block of Denver Street, which is behind the Safeway store, at the same time. At the scene, they declared him dead.

The married pair, according to the police, were hit by a car, and the husband was located after being dragged around the block.

During the inquiry, Alabama Avenue between Naylor Road and 30th Street, Southeast, was closed by investigators; however, traffic has now resumed.
