Orlando, Florida — This past weekend, pickleball players came together to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
After two days of competition, hundreds of dollars were raised for a worthy cause on Sunday.
In case you are unaware, pickleball is a recent phenomenon that involves having fun, exercising, and honing hand-eye coordination while supporting a nearby charity, according to participants.
Orlando Advanced Pickleball, the tournament’s sponsor, is run by volunteer Terri Deffron.
The folks at Orlando Advanced Pickleball thought, ‘Hey, how can we get the ball player community together and do something to benefit the community?’
We therefore chose Second Harvest Food Bank,” Deffron stated.
Every registration, according to the volunteers, will give 40 meals to hungry families and people in Central Florida. Which is 11,000 or more.
