(Washington) WFCN — On Friday afternoon, about one hundred first responders battled smoke and flames during a two-alarm fire in Northeast D.C. despite the intense heat.
In the 5400 block of James Place, a house caught fire. According to officials, the fire most likely began in the backyard of the house before moving inside and into the attic and another nearby house.

At 4:25 p.m., DC Fire and EMS reported via a post that the majority of the fire had been extinguished.

According to officials, after the home fire, some neighbors came out and brought the “exhausted firefighters” cold water.
The fire was contained, but it had spread to the third house in the row through the attic and roofline, according to a post made by DC Fire and EMS at 5:47 p.m.
There were no injuries recorded.
