A new video captures the moments last week when a shooter approached a barbershop in Mission Hills and started shooting.
According to family relatives, one of the barbers, 23-year-old Anthony Rodarte, suffered critical injuries in the event, which occurred on Wednesday, December 11 at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The unidentified individual can be seen approaching the door of Prodigy Barbershop, which is situated at 15519 Blackhawk Street, while drawing a revolver from their jacket pocket, according to surveillance footage taken outside the establishment.
They briefly vanish from the screen before sprinting across the parking lot and boarding an e-scooter to escape the scene.
Michelle Moreno, the victim’s mother, claims to be a single mother who has assisted her in supporting their family for a number of years.
“It’s sad because he’s done MMA for so many years,” she stated. “We’re told that he’ll probably never be able to do that again.”
Neither Rodarte nor family members know why the barbershop was targeted or who the shooter might be.
“Just seeing him laying in the bed is killing me, I wish it was me,” said Moreno. “I believe that, given everything that has been done thus far, my primary worry is managing his physical condition, certainly. The fact that this individual has escaped capture is keeping me awake at night. I’m unable to even think clearly.”
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department have not yet taken any prisoners into custody.
