Washington, D.C. –
The car involved in the tragic hit-and-run that occurred in Southwest Washington, D.C. on Thursday night is being sought after by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
Around 10:30 p.m., according to MPD, two boys, ages 16 and 17, were riding a stolen Fly Wing 150cc scooter in the 3800 block of South Capitol Street SW.
The scooter and an unidentified black car met head-on in the 3700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE while the car was going in the opposite direction.

Greenbelt police are holding two people while they look into an armed robbery.

The driver of the scooter fled as the two youngsters were flung off it.
At the scene, 16-year-old Da’Ron Ross from Southwest D.C. was declared deceased.
The other teenage kid had injuries that were not life-threatening, so he was sent to the hospital.
