The Metropolitan Police Department reports that an accident occurred in Southeast, D.C. on Saturday night as a result of a shooting.
According to police, at approximately 9:30 p.m., there was gunfire in Southeast, D.C.’s 1400 block of Howard Road, which culminated in a collision in the 2400 block of Southern Avenue.
A man with a gunshot wound was found by police when they arrived at the scene.
The gunshot and ensuing crash are the subject of an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department. The goal of detective work is to piece together the facts and identify a motive. According to preliminary accounts, the victim might have been the target of an attack; however, suspects have not yet been named.

Speaking to the media, Police Chief said, “We are dedicated to holding individuals responsible for this tragedy accountable and we are actively investigating the matter. We kindly request that anyone with knowledge come forward and aid in our inquiry.”
