Challenging Times for Texans

A recent CNBC investigation found that Texas isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Many Texans are struggling on a daily basis due to a lack of healthcare and severe financial difficulties.

When it comes to quality of life, the survey found that Texas ranks dead last. Despite a recent 473,453-person rise to the state’s population, Texans still face major challenges in their day-to-day lives.

Problems Spellt Out by Health Care Shortage

When it comes to mental health services, Forbes Advisor ranks Texas dead last.
Compared to other states, Texas has a lower number of doctors and nurses per capita, according to the report. It becomes more challenging for individuals to access timely medical assistance as a result of this.

Another major issue with medical care costs is the large number of Texans without health insurance. It is difficult for some to afford healthcare; around one-fifth of Texans are in financial distress due to unpaid medical costs.

Taxes are low, But unemployment is low

From an economic perspective, Texans who lose their jobs don’t get much assistance, despite the state’s favorable business climate and cheap taxes.

Unemployed Texans have it rough since, according to the research, their unemployment benefits don’t even come close to covering their basic living expenses.

Benefits accrue to older Texans

Not all Texans are having trouble making ends meet, though. In the United States, 70% of all wealth is held by individuals over the age of 55. This widens the divide between generations, making life more difficult for the younger generation and easier for the wealthy ones.

Although there are opportunities in Texas, the report cautions that the Lone Star State is not without major concerns that may impact the quality of life for its residents.
