The City of Manvel in Eastern Texas —
The residents of a tiny community in Brazoria County, Texas, rallied to rescue a dog whose head seemed to be stuck with what looked like a plastic bowl. It’s with much relief that we report a good ending: the dog was rescued on Wednesday afternoon. An animal doctor in the area is currently attending to it.
Tuesday was the first day that the lab mix was seen in Manvel; the police department issued a warrant for its arrest and warned locals to stay alert.
Police, Manvel Mayor Dan Davis, animal control officials, and concerned citizens had been traveling all around town to find the dog. Those who approached the scared dog on Del Bello and County Road 58 were met with her flight.
“Myself and others have done searching and weren’t able to find him and others are organizing another round of searches,” Davis wrote on Twitter.

Aside from bringing in drones to assist in their search, police officers also attempted to tranquilize the dog.

“They darted him but he ran off into the words and they weren’t able to locate him with drones,” the mayor pointed out.
The bowl was covering the dog’s nose and mouth, so many were afraid it wouldn’t be able to breathe.
The dog was rescued and sent to the vet shortly after we reported our ordeal. Great work, Manvel.
