Police are looking for the driver who fled the scene after a lady was hit and killed on a Santa Monica sidewalk on Sunday night.
The Santa Monica Police Department reports that officers responded to multiple reports of a woman being hit by a car at the intersection of Chelsea Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard close to Douglas Park at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Sunday.
At the scene, the woman passed away. After striking the woman, the hit-and-run driver drove east on Wilshire while driving at a fast speed, according to the police.
The identify of the woman struck and a description of the car have not yet been made public.
