Businesses on the North Side of the city were notified by Chicago police about armed robberies occurring nearby.
In two instances, two male suspects, both covered in black clothing, broke into the establishments and took money. The perpetrators then drove off the location.
Inside 11:56 p.m. on May 9, inside a Subway restaurant, the first incident took place in the 5200-block of North Nagle Avenue.

In the police-released footage, the suspects appear to be about to make a purchase. A gun is pulled by one of the suspects as the cash register opens, while the other sprang over the counter to take the money.

On May 10 at 12:09 a.m., a company located in the 4700-block of Elston Avenue was the scene of another robbery.
