A 34 year-old now leaves one dead and two injured in Ontario, California after a violent, drug-induced attack local police have reported.
A 34-year-old man from Ontario, Derick Laija, has been arrested following a violent incident that resulted in one death and two injuries in San Bernardino County.
The attack occurred on September 17, when deputies responded to a home on Bluegrass Avenue shortly before 8 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found three individuals with serious injuries, reports KTLA News.
Hadgu Abraham, 61, was discovered outside the residence with blunt-force trauma to his head and later succumbed to his injuries.
His wife, Freweiny Abraham, 61, and their son, Asmerom Abraham, 31, were also injured and required emergency medical treatment.

Investigators learned that Laija had been staying in a short-term rental near the victims’ home.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, he was believed to be under the influence of psilocybin mushrooms at the time of the attack, exhibiting erratic behavior.
Laija allegedly broke into the Abrahams’ home while attempting to steal their vehicle.
When the family confronted him, he violently assaulted them.
A bat was recovered from the scene, indicating the severity of the confrontation.
Laija has been charged with murder and attempted murder, and the investigation is ongoing.
