Some companies that have experienced burglaries and shoplifting have resorted to a new kind of security system in order to safeguard their assets.
To make it harder for burglars to see, the new security system uses fog.
Density USA is the firm that produces them. This device creates dense fog with almost no visibility in a matter of seconds by using a powerful engine. Made of water and glycol, it is meant to seem dense and confusing, but it is innocuous to intruders.
According to Skyline Security’s IT director, Jonathan Huettner, his business sells the device throughout the Los Angeles region.
“It’s similar like covering your head with a blanket. Huettner remarked, “You can’t find the door from six inches away.”
The system is new in the United States, but it has been in place for years in the United Kingdom. According to Huettner, it has already been tested and proven to be quite effective in catching burglars who are frequently unaffected by conventional alarms.
“The minute it starts spraying out, they know they can’t take anything or see anything and so they usually turn right away,” Huettner stated.
That is precisely what occurred during a break-in at a Chatsworth drugstore last May. When the owner and the police came, the fog was still pouring out of the store. The enigmatic cloud scared away the thieves, who were nowhere to be seen.
After being targeted by burglars, a marijuana retailer installed the dense fog system.
Our fortifications are in place. The dispensary owner stated, “We have a lot of money invested in cameras, but the problem is those solutions don’t do anything once something is underway.” “For us, it gave us another layer of protection that could be deployed automatically when no one was here.”
The system can be purchased for around $3,000, or it can be leased for less. According to Density USA, they serve both residential and commercial customers in Southern California. The business claims that the property’s size is not a problem.
“You can place multiple units if you have a bigger store,” Huettner stated. “We also have bigger units that can fog 30, 40, 50, 100,000 square feet in just seconds.”
According to the corporation, clothing and food items are unaffected by the fog. For now, commercial clients are only permitted to use the Density Fog Security System outside of business hours, when no customers would be inside.
