Missing 83-Year-Old Man Last Seen After Flight Cancellation Amid Crowd Strike Outage

Tampa, Florida, (WFCN) —

An octogenarian gentleman, aged 83, has disappeared for seven days since his trip from Florida was called off because of ongoing problems caused by the Crowd Strike disruption.

Patrick A. Bailey arrived at Orlando International Airport on July 21 to board his flight, but unfortunately, the journey was called off because of ongoing issues stemming from the Crowd Strike service disruption, as reported by the Orlando Police Department.

The principal of an elementary school was apprehended for driving under the influence and attempting to escape from Hillsborough County deputies, according to authorities. It was reported that Bailey stayed overnight at a nearby hotel and departed the next morning.

According to the authorities on X, he opted not to board a plane back to his residence.

The son of Bailey, interviewed by NBC affiliate WESH, expressed feeling completely lost in his search for his father.

“We are truly stumped when it comes to locating him,” expressed Patrick Bailey Jr., the man’s son.

Bailey Jr. mentioned that his father was on his way back to Oregon by plane, having spent time with his sister in Florida.

“Upon dropping off his luggage, his son informed him that his flight had been canceled due to the airline’s numerous problems.” No one received any notifications about his arrival at home. His absence had gone unnoticed by everyone.

As reported by WESH, the family of the 83-year-old man has not been successful in finding him using his mobile phone.

The airline that Bailey Jr.’s father was meant to board also confirmed that he did not board the aircraft.

“He might have opted for a different airline,” he mentioned. However, he has not made an appearance at his residence. His house has been inspected by individuals.

According to the son of the man, his father transitioned into a career as a long-distance truck driver after leaving the Navy, which means he might have opted to hire a car and drive back home.

Nonetheless, the rental company in Florida where the 83-year-old gentleman hired a car stated that he gave back the vehicle and did not exchange it for another one.

Furthermore, Bailey Jr. mentioned that his father had been admitted to the hospital due to a back injury, casting doubt on his ability to undertake the journey.

“He’s simply not fit to endure the journey across the entire country in his current state,” he remarked.

According to a report, a dangerous otter was taken out of a lake in Florida. Bailey Jr. mentioned to WESH that authorities were contacting different car rental agencies to locate his father, but he remains optimistic that someone will soon come across his father.

“He expressed optimism that everything will turn out positively and we will locate him, yet he also emphasized the fleeting nature of time,” he remarked.
