On Sunday night, a police shooting at a Woodland Hills motel claimed the life of a man.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were called to a motel in the 21700 block of Ventura Boulevard at approximately 10:15 p.m. for a guy who was armed. Officers discovered a man brandishing a gun when they got to the scene.
Officers responded fire when the individual fired his handgun, according to the LAPD. Whether the man shot at the police is unknown.
The man locked himself and fled from the police after the incident. SWAT and a Metro K9 were dispatched to the scene, and authorities set up a perimeter. They entered the motel around 1:30 a.m. and discovered the man with gunshot wounds.
At the scene, the individual was declared dead. It’s unknown whether the individual was shot by police or if he injured himself to death.
According to the LAPD, the shooting did not damage any police or witnesses.
