Man arrested after armed burglary, hours-long standoff with police in the Hollywood Hills

Following an hours-long confrontation with police on Wednesday night, a guy who broke into a house in the Hollywood Hills was taken into custody.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, they were called to a burglary near the 3140 block of Hollyridge Drive in the Hollywood Hills at approximately 9:15 p.m.

According to the LAPD, the man entered the house through the front door while the occupants were inside.

Police discovered a man brandishing a knife when they got there. The man went to the house’s porch in an attempt to escape.

According to the LAPD, SWAT backup was called because the subject would not comply with the police. The suspect was arrested at 12:30 a.m. following an hours-long standoff.
