Unexpected Move: U.S. Bank Announces Surprise Branch Closure

Attackers using ransomware use a sort of software to encrypt or lock down confidential data, after which they demand money or another item in exchange for the key to open it.

The most recent services to be brought back are Zelle, online bill payment, balance inquiries, transaction histories, and online and mobile banking.

Online call center or branch transactions are offered for skip payment, certificate account services, and wire transfers.

Electronic statements, new account opening, new loans, balance transfers, and credit card balance transfers are still not available.

As each day passed with no word on when their full services would be restored or how much of their personal data was exposed, hundreds of clients of the well-known credit union became uneasy and bombarded Patelco’s social media pages, demanding answers.

One of the bank customers, Ajani Byrd, has been fulfilling his payments without being aware of the precise amount of money remaining in his account. So, the announcement of the services’ return could not have come at a better time.
