Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday that a 41-year-old high school teacher in Covina is charged with nine felonies for allegedly sexually abusing two female students.
Last week, on December 18, Joshua Daniel McGinn was taken into custody on accusations of perpetrating sexual offenses against two minor females starting in 2022. Prosecutors said he may receive a maximum term of 13 years and 6 months in jail if found guilty of all charges. According to jail records, McGinn is presently being held at Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles without being granted bail.
The West Covina Courthouse will host his arraignment on January 6.
The following are among the criminal charges brought against him, according to the DA’s office.
Prosecutors have urged any additional possible victims to get in touch with police while McGinn waits for his court appearance behind bars.
“We also want to encourage anyone who may have additional information or has been victimized to come forward and report information to the Covina Police Department,” said Nathan Hochmans, the district attorney, in a statement highlighting the allegations. “Your courage in speaking out is vital, and we are here to ensure justice is served.”
