A Pasadena resident who had to evacuate her house due to the Eaton Fire came back to rescue her poultry.
While covering Altadena Drive, KCAL News Reporter Jasmine Veil and her photographer John Schreiber saw a woman crying in front of her house. According to the woman, she has a number of ducks and hens stuck at the back of her house.
“This morning when we came here, the whole road here at Altadena Drive was burned,” stated the lady.
Veil and Schreiber intervened to save the house next door from burning down.
“I didn’t think it was anything serious actually, I was still working, and I got home at 8 p.m. last night,” added the woman. “We thought that the wind was going eastward.”
The woman’s home and neighborhood suffered significant damage, but Veil and Schreiber were able to assist in saving her animals.
