No. 24 and 28 points were scored by John Blackwell. Wisconsin’s winning run now stands at seven games after defeating Southern California 84-69 on Saturday afternoon.
The Badgers (15-3, 5-2 Big Ten), who have an average margin of victory of 16.1 points during their winning run, added 18 points from Max Klesmit and 13 from Nolan Winter.
Rashaun Agee scored 15 points, while Saint Thomas topped the Trojans (11-7, 3-4) with 19. On Saturday, USC, who had won their previous two games, held the lead for just 49 seconds.
With 17:54 left, Wisconsin led 51-32 before USC went on a 13-0 run. Before the Badgers took back control, the Trojans finally reduced it to three.
Wisconsin: Blackwell scored at least 20 points for the third consecutive game. During the Badgers’ winning run, the sophomore point guard had 14 turnovers and 27 assists.
Desmond, USC Claude was held to nine points, despite leading the Big Ten with an average of 22 points per game in conference games.
Midway in the second half, USC pulled within 55-52, but Wisconsin rallied with an 8-2 run to gain some breathing room. It was 59-52 after Blackwell made the game-winning reverse layup.
Wisconsin scored 22 points as a result of USC’s 16 turnovers. The Badgers have forced their opponent into at least 15 turnovers for the second time in three games.
Wisconsin is still in Los Angeles for Tuesday’s matchup with UCLA. On Wednesday, USC will visit Nebraska.
