Fitness influencer Miguel Aguilar dies months after attempted robbery in Bel Air

Three months after being shot during an attempted robbery, Miguel Angel Aguilar, a well-known fitness advocate and club owner in Southern California, passed away.

Four suspects drove up and tried to rob the 43-year-old victim outside a house on Thurston Circle in September, according to the police. Police said that one of the suspects pulled out a revolver and shot Aguilar multiple times, however it was unclear if he resisted or attempted to defend himself.

After the incident, Aguilar, the proprietor of Self Made Training, which is based in Temecula and has a few dozen sites nationwide, was in serious condition.

But according to a message on his Instagram page, he passed away on Saturday. In a relevant section, the statement stated:

Greetings, Self-Made Family We regret to inform you of the passing of Miguel Angel Aguilar, our founder and CEO. Miguel died peacefully on December 21, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, after a valiant three-month battle after the awful event that occurred on September 13, 2024.

A visionary, an inspiration, a mentor, a parent, a husband, a family member, and a close friend to many, Miguel was more than just a leader. His steadfast commitment to Self Made Training Facility, his love for the fitness sector, and his spirit of entrepreneurship have made a lasting impression.
