Police in the Larchmont district of Los Angeles said Friday that detectives are looking for the driver who hit and seriously injured a 22-year-old woman who was crossing the street.
The public is being asked to assist the Los Angeles Police Department in identifying the driver responsible for the collision on October 16. According to LAPD, the woman was struck as she crossed Western Avenue by the driver, who was driving north on Western Avenue and approached Clinton Street in a dark vehicle that may have been a Toyota Camry. According to authorities, a male pedestrian who was with the victim and saw the collision ran away.
Police say the motorist did not stop or attempt to help the victim. She was taken by paramedics to a neighboring hospital for treatment. The specifics of her injuries and present state have not been disclosed by the police.
