NEW ORLEANS (WFCN) — Following a man’s shooting death in Central City, the New Orleans Police Department is conducting an investigation.

Officers from the NOPD say they were summoned to the 2400 block of Jackson Avenue at 2:15 a.m. on Monday, June 3, in response to a complaint of gunfire in the neighborhood.

Officers said that upon arrival, they discovered a male with a gunshot wound.

Concerns about violence in the neighborhood are still present, and a man has died as a result of a shooting that happened in Central City early on Monday morning.
