Brush fire erupts in Eaton Canyon above Altadena

In the Eaton Canyon region close to Altadena, firefighters from Los Angeles County are battling a second brush fire that has a significant chance of spreading.

According to the Los Angeles incident Department, the incident was initially reported in the vicinity above Altadena at approximately 6:40 p.m. According to firefighters’ preliminary estimates, the fire was blazing upward and had consumed roughly 20 acres of brush.

According to Pasadena Fire Department firefighters, the area’s high wind is making the flames behave strangely and spread swiftly.

Since it started Tuesday morning, a deadly wildfire in the Pacific Palisades has already burned over 2,900 acres and destroyed several buildings miles distant.

The National Weather Service said that some areas could see wind gusts of up to 80 miles per hour, with the highest gusts reaching 100 miles per hour, as Southern California is currently experiencing one of the worst wind storms the region has seen in ten years.
