Big News! Rivian Successfully Extracts Stuck R1T Truck After Months in Arizona Wilderness

Not much fuss, to be sure, but the bizarre tale of the Rivian R1T buried in the mud of Arizona has ended. Although it was supposedly abandoned for dead since February, we only recently published a story on the trapped pickup. It was only now that TikTok informed us! I suppose I’m just too preoccupied with dancing memes.

Speaking of digging, a lot of conjecture had been raised over the how, why, and exact moment this R1T encountered its puzzling conditions.

Say What Wendy, the person who alerted us to the car, reported on the events but did not provide any other information, such as who left the car there. Mostly centered on the R1T, the videos were closely cropped.

We got in touch with Rivian to check if it knew about the situation and could offer any information because they weren’t giving us much. Rivian stated that the R1T that was caught in the ravine had escaped after a mere two days.

Our staff successfully extracted the R1T for the customer and got it back on the road by using a specially outfitted R1S.

Going off the road appears to have been the driver’s intention, even though we are unsure exactly how the R1T got there. The company did not, however, disclose any more information, and TikTok has not subsequently provided any improvements.

The manufacturer should be contacted directly if local towing and extraction businesses are unable or unwilling to assist, if there is any lesson to be learned from this. Then again, we might as well file this R1T enigma under wonderful Arizona history, right up there with the Phoenix Lights, along with the how, when, why, and where.
