Arson investigators looking into series of fires in the Sherman Oaks area

A number of midnight fires in the Sherman Oaks region are being investigated by arson detectives.

Three fires that happened within miles of one another are being investigated, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

At 10:32 p.m., firefighters were called to a fire at 4721 N. Kester Ave., which was located in an apartment complex. According to LAFD, they arrived and put out several cars inside a carport.

The Department of Water and Power was informed of the damage to electrical panels and the shattered windows in two apartment units. The fire was reported to have caused no injuries.

A third fire was reported early on Wednesday morning at 4648 Columbus Ave., while another was reported Tuesday evening at 15201 Ventura Blvd.

Authorities are looking into whether the fires are related and what caused them.
