Arizona school offers to donate clothing and blankets to Altadena students

The head of Aveson Charter Schools inspected the damage to one of their campuses from the Eaton Fire. The unexpected encouragement from strangers may bring some pupils to tears during their next lecture, despite the devastation.

Ian McFeat, executive director of Aveson Charter School, stated, “Their school said that they wanted to adopt our school, just beautiful.”

One of California’s most destructive fires, the 14,000-acre Eaton Fire destroyed or damaged at least 7,000 structures, wreaking havoc on Altaden neighborhoods. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner reports that the wildfire has claimed the lives of at least 16 persons. The 1933 Griffith Park fire was the only fire in LA County to claim more lives than the Eaton Fire. 29 persons were slain.

McFeat has been trying to locate help for teachers and children who lost their houses for days. The fire damaged McFeats’ own home.

His group will gather the school community on Wednesday to provide consolation to one another. They have offered to temporarily move their classes to a another location, but it’s unclear when that will happen.

McFeat stated that his staff is eager to share it with their pupils and has no affiliation with the Arizona institution providing assistance.
