Agbo’s season-high 19 points lead USC past Southern, 82-51 in final nonconference game

USC defeated Southern 82-51 on Sunday to end its nonconference schedule with its fourth consecutive victory, led by Chibuzo Agbo, who scored 18 points and made four 3-pointers.

The Trojans (9-4) will play No. 24 Michigan on January 4 to kick out their Big Ten Conference schedule after taking the holidays.

USC took a 19–4 lead early in the game and continued to lead by double digits throughout. Josh Cohen made four consecutive free throws, converted a three-point attempt, and added a layup in the first three minutes of the second half to increase the Jaguars’ lead to 22 points at 52-30 after they had fallen behind 41-27 at the break.

The Trojans shot 6 of 17 from beyond the arc during the game, while Agbo was 4 of 8 from three-point range. Cohen finished with 17 points and made 9 of 10 free throws. Desmond Claude contributed five assists and thirteen points. Eleven points were scored by Wesley Yates III.

Southern (5-7), led by 10 points from each of DaMariee Jones, Jordan Johnson, and Dionjahe Thomas, was 17 of 52 from the field, including 2 of 19 from beyond the arc.
