Additional Disaster Recovery Center opens in Altadena for fire victims

The Altadena area’s Disaster Recovery Center opened on Monday, providing crucial county, state, and federal aid that fire victims could require in a convenient location.

Serving the Pasadena, Altadena communities impacted by the Eaton Fire, the new facility at 540 W. Woodbury Road is the third of its sort. All services will be moved to the Altadena facility on Saturday when the established center at the Pasadena City College Community Education Center closes.

At any of the three centers, a variety of local, state, and federal departments and agencies can provide aid to residents affected by fire.

The recovery centers are staffed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and state authorities, including the Franchise Tax Board and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Numerous county departments are also represented, ranging from child support services to animal care and control.

The third center is located in UCLA Research Park West, 10850 W. Pico Blvd. in Los Angeles, and serves victims of the Palisades Fire. Daily hours for all of the centers are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The new Altadena site offers the following agencies:
