Beverly Hills police arrests burglary suspects allegedly tied to crime ring

Numerous individuals who were allegedly connected to a criminal organization that was responsible for residential break-ins across California were taken into custody by the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Three people were first taken into custody by authorities on January 16 in connection with a slew of break-ins in Beverly Hills and the surrounding areas. Following the arrests, BHPD served search warrants at the offenders’ residences in Los Angeles in collaboration with detectives from the Glendale Police Department.

While detectives seized stolen property, including luxury purses, designer clothes, jewelry, watches, weapons, and other luxury items, Glendale police apprehended another suspect during the operation.

The accused were identified by Beverly Hills police as Matias Jesus Soto-Barraza, 22, who was taken into custody by Glendale police, Elias Moncada Reyes, 30, Leidy Dayana Manrique, 30, Juan Antonio Silva Loaeza, 43, and Joaquin Vergara-Contrera, 29.

Loaeza is charged with two charges of residential burglary, while Vergara-Contreras is charged with four. According to Beverly Hills police, Reyes was detained for residential burglary and had a warrant for his arrest in Pasadena.

Manrique was charged with two counts of receiving stolen items and residential burglary, according to the BHPD. Police say she is currently being jailed in Ventura County on related charges.

The suspects, according to detectives, are connected to a criminal organization that is reportedly in charge of burglaries in Bakersfield, Burbank, Pleasanton, Ventura County, Orange County, San Mateo County, and San Marino.
