Following a tip of a potential bomb threat on campus, law enforcement officers arrived at a South Los Angeles school Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, at 8:21 a.m., an unidentified individual called the police to report that there was a bomb at Stella High Charter Academy. Deputies then started to evacuate the campus. According to aerial footage, a sheriff’s department helicopter buzzed overhead and multiple patrol cars stayed at the site while kids at the school, which is located at 1600 W. Imperial Hwy., stood on an outdoor athletic field nearly two hours later, at around 10 a.m.
While the inquiry is ongoing, no additional information has been made public.
