Ducks score 3 goals early in 2nd period and beat Kraken 6-4 for 3rd straight win

The Anaheim Ducks defeated the Seattle Kraken 6-4 on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Mason McTavish early in the second period and Robby Fabbri’s assist on the game-winning goal 4:35 later.

The Ducks took the lead for good with three goals in the first eight minutes of the second half, with to goals from Troy Terry, Cutter Gauthier, Jackson LaCombe, and Frank Vatrano. After losing seven of eight games, Anaheim has now won three in a row.

Fabbri, LaCombe, Vatrano, and McTavish all finished with a goal and an assist. Lukas Dostal recorded 26 saves, and Ryan Strome contributed two assists.

The Kraken’s goals came from Shane Wright, Jaden Schwartz, Mitchell Stephens, and Eeli Tolvanen. The goal of Philipp Grubauer was to block 17 shots.

At 1:04 of the second, McTavish tied the score at three all. Anaheim took the lead thanks to a goal by Fabbri at 5:39, and LaCombe made it 5-3 at 7:58.

Wright’s power-play goal at 6:15 of the third made it 5-4, but Vatrano’s empty-netter with 1:16 remaining sealed the victory.

Terry opened the scoring at 1:23 of the match, but Seattle quickly equalized with goals from Tolvanen and Stephens to put the Kraken ahead 2-1.

At 14:01 of the first, Schwartz gave Seattle the lead again with his team-high 17th goal after Gauthier had knotted it.
