On Sunday, the Los Angeles Drug Enforcement Agency declared that it was working with other federal law enforcement agencies to assist with immigration enforcement.
On X, Special Agent Matthew Allen said the agency was supporting the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security.

The DEA also stated in a different post that it participated in an operation on Sunday morning, but the details of the mission were not made public.

On Sunday, the DEA in Chicago issued similar statements, but it was also unclear what steps were done.
According to a memo given to staff on Tuesday and obtained by CBS News, the action comes after the Justice Department ordered law enforcement nationwide to concentrate on implementing President Trump’s immigration policy last week.
