The sadness of this tragedy and the amazing outpouring of support for people whose lives have been wrecked by this disaster have demonstrated the astonishing resilience of Angelenos in the days after the wildfires started.I’m pleased to announce today that a Leadership Council to Rebuild L.A. has been established, utilizing the knowledge and generosity of the business sector. The goal of this council is to determine how businesses and leaders may offer their expertise, resources, and experience to help rebuild Los Angeles and aid those in need.We also have a special feature in The Times today: personal essays that are a monument to the energy and tenacity that define our city: Love letters from Angelenos following the fires.The process of recuperation and reconstruction will be drawn out and difficult. We want to inspire one another as we unite to make Los Angeles stronger than ever by sharing tales of the profound love that Angelenos have for this city.
