Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visit Eaton Fire evacuation center in Pasadena

On Friday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went to the Pasadena Convention Center to assist the Eaton Fire victims.

The pair fed the approximately 1,200 evacuees and consoled volunteers.

“Prince Harry and Meghan are examples of how so many people want to help,” Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo told KCAL News.

On Thursday, Prince Harry and Meghan declared the flames to be terrible in an official statement posted on their website. The post provided a list of organizations that assist victims of fire. Meghan was born in Los Angeles, and the pair now resides in Montecito.

There were other well-known figures at the Pasadena Convention Center on Friday besides Prince Harry and Meghan. Food was prepared by World Central Kitchen chefs Roy Choi and Jos Andrs.

Choi told KCAL News that being a cook is your calling in life and that all you worry about is feeding people.

Following the devastating wildfire that tore through homes in Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre, and other neighborhoods along the Angeles National Forest, the auditorium has played host to everything from ballet to comedies, and numerous America’s Got Talent episodes became gathering spots for evacuees and their families.

Six individuals were killed by the fire, which burnt over 13,690 acres, and 1,603 personnel had been sent to the scene by Friday. At least 7,000 buildings were also destroyed or severely damaged. Crews have reached “significant progress” in increasing containment to 3%, nevertheless.
