Vatrano has 2 goals and an assist, leading Ducks past Lightning 4-1

Frank Vatrano signed a three-year contract deal and finished with two goals and an assist. On Sunday, the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-1, and John Gibson recorded his 200th NHL victory.

The Ducks, who have won four of their previous six games, also had a goal and an assist from Troy Terry. At 16:26 on the third, Jackson Lacombe put it out of reach.

Gibson stopped 36 shots, making him the third current goalie born in the United States to achieve that feat.

In the second period, Tampa Bay’s Jake Guentzel scored a power-play goal. Fifth in the league, Nikita Kucherov recorded his 55th point and 38th assist.

22 saves were made by Jonas Johansson. For the second time this season, Tampa Bay has lost three straight games.

With 2:57 left in the first, Vatrano, whose contract extension through the 2027–28 season will pay him $3 million in each of the following three seasons, dribbled a shot from Jacob Trouba past Johansson to give the Ducks a 2-0 lead.

With 1:32 left, Vatrano, who has 11 goals and 23 points, scored into an empty-net goal.
